Lock myself in a windowless laundry room to avoid screaming at my kids or going insane!

What did you never expect to have to do???

Upon getting divorced, move back in with my parents in order to have a place to live, find employment and save money.

In fact, this answer applies to 2 other questions in this category. I feel embarrased and humiliated sometimes, and am constantly trying to not "Give away" the fact that I live with them. I want my son to have a good life and not struggle wth me, and I am lucky my parents were the type to not only welcome me, but honestly make me see that although I am not entirely independant, I am doing this for my son's future. My parents have a large house with a swimming pool. What more could a young child desire?

What I struggle with all the time is being "the child" again. No matter how old you are, you still get the same advice and are almost told what to do. You are your parents child, so it's habit.

Hopefully this will change soon. (Please God....) But in the meantime, my son does get Christmas presents this year, which honestly, if I had rushed out to a place of my own without back-up funds, we would probably not have extra for Christmas. So I am thankful, but I never expected to be in ths position. If not for being a Mom, I might have made a different decision.
